               Stuart Dawes                
UK Supply Market

Stuart Dawes has been in the UK energy market since 1999, holding a variety of commercial roles within the UK energy industry. He started at Northern Electric, working on preparations for NETA being launched in 2001; before transferring to RWE Trading to develop & lead a prompt trading desk. Stuart next transferred into retail to develop the Optimisation Desk for Npower designing innovative solutions to offer wholesale market access to end users & TPIs. He then moved externally to lead supply risk activities for British Energy and then transferred into a Senior Manager of B2B Energy role upon acquisition by EDF Energy. Stuart finally made a short foray into the TPI market as Ops Director for Inenco’s SME business; attempting to turn around its performance.

Stuart has been consulting since 2017, initially focusing on designing trading solutions for new market entrants on behalf of his client SmartestEnergy. During this period he also co-founded TUME with Joanne Ragdale. Stuart took full ownership of TUME in 2019, when he decided make it a full time venture, This has enabled him to develop its working community of experts and the services available to support our clients.

 Julie Arnold
Global Wholesale Markets

Julie Arnold has been active in energy trading since 1997 having led trading desks in the UK and APAC. She has spent most of her career in trading leadership roles across RWE Supply & Trading. Julie has been involved in the setting up and operations of a number of highly successful trading businesses. These included Power, Cross Commodity, Physical & Financial Coal in the UK. She then moved forward within the RWE Group to head up APAC Power Trading covering Australia, Japan, Singapore and New Zealand. 

Julie moved into consulting in 2019 and supports clients looking to set up trading desks in new markets or wishing to improve desk performance. Julie has an in-depth knowledge of all areas of an energy trading business including ETRM vendor selection, desk process design, data and analysis requirements, candidate selection, remuneration processes and legal and regulatory landscapes. Additionally, Julie is experienced in designing the processes and structures to interact with generation an retail assets. 

               David Roberts                
UK TPI Market

David Roberts has been in the UK energy market since the 1990s and has worked on both sides of the supplier and TPI interface. He started his career in gas engineering and then moved into trading for Centrica, before managing commercial product development for British Gas Business. David was Head of Operations for Energyquote until its successful acquisition by Accenture and then moved into a Head of Sales Support role for Advantage Utilities; leading their proposition and process redesign. 

David has been consulting since 2017 and has worked with clients including Ergo 3, Haven Power and Avantigas, reviewing their commercial partnerships, partner selection and all supporting processes. David is well known across the retail market and is able to provide guidance to TPIs based on a strong understanding of market participants, where risks sit and how they can be best addressed. David was a founding associate within the TUME Network and has a strong understanding of the expert capability available to support TPI clients.

Phil Biddle
UK Partner Network

Phil Biddle is a proven leader within the UK Energy Industry and has worked within it for over 30 years. Phil spent a long career within E.ON leading B2B sales teams (including integrating the TXU Energi and Economy Power portfolios). Phil led E.ON’s Energy Efficiency development activity before moving across to be Head of SME Retail. He next moved to EDF Energy as Interim SME Director before moving to be Director of Major Accounts leading the integration of the British Energy Direct portfolio. Finally, Phil was a founding member of the Bristol Energy leadership team, initially leading the set up of the B2B division, before transitioning to Director of Sales and Marketing.

 

 

Phil has been consulting on and off since 2009, filling the gaps between leadership roles and holds a great blend of experience and perspectives. Phil leads on TUME’s 3rd party arrangements, ensuring the continued evolution of the group by working collaboratively with others for the mutual benefit of all parties.

New Energy Consulting (NEC) offers hands-on consultancy to new entrants. challenger suppliers and white label players; helping them enter and develop within the UK energy retail market. It is able to provide support across the full range of responsibilities falling on suppliers and across the customer journey.
